'My Computer' doesnt show p3

i just got my p3 for xmas... so yeah, i'm a noob.

i plug in my p3 and emodio starts up and a box pops up that says "MTP Media Player: what would you like to do with this device"
option A: Transfer files using Windows Media Player.
option B: Do nothing

i want to go through my files, which i did the night before @ my friend's house, but that option wasn't on this box, so i just clicked "Do Nothing"

so then, i thought that i could go to my computer and see a hardware device called "P3" and just explore the files there, like i did with all of my previous MP3 players, but "p3" wasn't on the menu!

(the reason why i'm doing all of this is because i want to put a flash game into my flash folder, which you can't do in EmoDio from what i know.)

i have NO IDEA what to do and i'm not THAT computer savvy, so could somebody PLEASE help me?

Go into the settings on the P3, the system section and change pc connection from MTP to UMS.
