Default Fav. ending of a movie.

What's the ending of a movie that really made it for you and made it a great movie. Personally my favorite was Lucky Number Slevin, or V for Vendetta.

My favourite movie ending would have to be The Shawshank Redemption.

Memento... no wait, that's the beginning of the movie. Or is it?

(If you haven't seen Memento, don't read any reviews - they inevitably ruin the movie.)

Saving Private Ryan
Grave of the Fireflies (Anime)
Pursuit of Happyness (Superb ending although its predictable, Smith's acting makes it wonderful)
The Terminal
V for Vendetta
Saw I (Extremely intense, unhappy and unpredictable ending although its a rather sadistic movie)

The Usual Suspects does have a great ending...

I think the Godfather had a great ending too with the door closing as Clemenza kisses Michael's ring.

Pursuit of happyness did have a great ending, especially where the kid is telling him something, and the guy that the movie was actually based on walks by, and Will looks back, just made it awesome.

The Prestige(very unexpected ending)
Planet of the Apes(orignal film) is one of the greatest endings to any movie IMO.

Thats all I can think right now.

I found The Prestige's end disturbing.
Planet of the Apes end is a classic.

The new Planet of the Apes from 2001 had a very unexpected ending.
I wish they would have made a sequel.

Have you seen the directors cut where they play the scenes in order? It somewhat ruins the novelty of the movie, but I picked up so many intricacies that I missed on the first couple of viewings.

No, haven't seen that yet. But sure sounds interesting after watching the 'proper' one first.

Very good. Many more allusions to the "blending" of Lenny and Sammy...

The only downside is that (at least in Region 1 DVD) the only way to watch it like that was through a secret menu/puzzle on the special features disc of the special edition. Which is a bit of a pain.
