So got my new X-fi2 a couple of days ago, my old player was a Zen 16gb.
I'm a little disappointed with the x-fi2, it seems to be lacking any grunt, bass weak to say the least. I am using Ultimate Ears Super-fi Pro 5's these phones have always sounded fantastic on the old zen and I can crank the volume up to ridiculous levels, not so on the x-fi2 ![]() I have tweeked the custom graphic only to find a rather strange problem, it would appear that when you adjust the 80hz or 13khz bands above +5 db it reduces the volume, and there's no change in volume from 20-25, is there some kind of volume restriction in place on these players?? Volume restriction is NOT set in settings. ![]() I do remember upgrading the firmware on my Zen to the US version to remove the EU restricted volume firmware.

I don't get all you people, EQ is meant to LOWER some frequencies you don't want, not to pump them up and possibly distort everything

I too think that it is a restriction.

So if I also like to higher the high frequenties, te whole volume is going down and it's not so loud already. Let's hope for a volume hack/mod like the "GoPod" for the old eyepodz :P |
