I was watching a copy of Sky Crawlers on my Zen, while it was plugged into my wall charger. (5V output) when all of a sudden it shut off. there was a icon of a battery with a lightning bolt in the middle of the screen before I unplugged it. Now it wont turn on, even when I hold down the power button.
has this happened to anyone else? Im going to assume no, but I thought it would be a good idea to ask you guys before I write to creative. |

Have you tried connecting it to your PC?

I did try poking the reset buttons to no avail, so I tried connecting it to the PC. where the same Icon popped up. After awhile however, the scanning disk icon showed up and it started working again. Sure gave me a scare though. Im wondering if my charger discharged it or something along those lines, but at least its working again.

The wall charger sounds suspicious. Is it an official Creative charger? What is the rated output current?
It sounds like watching your video while charging was using more power than the charger could supply, so even though the player "thought" it was charging, your battery was still being depleted. It's a bit of a long shot, but the only explanation I have that makes sense at the moment.

according to the label on my charger output is rated at:
5V 0.5 300mA MAX. Its worked fine with my old Zen. its not an official Creative one, it was packaged with a cheap Chinese Ipod Knockoff my aunt brought to me from the philippines. This was the first incident that happened with it, so im kinda worried about using it now... |
