Hi,
Recently my Zen Vision M stopped working properly. It started with each time I turned it on it would say 'Rebuilding'. This then stripped off half of the music on the player. Since then, I have been unable to fix the problem despite trying many solutions mentioned on this forum. In fact, I may have made the problem worse-it now only boots into 'Recovery Mode' and also says Firmware error. I am running a laptop with Windows Service Pack 3 and Windows Media Player 11. When I connect my Zen to the laptop it is recognised in device manager but not in Windows Media Player and I think most importantly not by the Creative MP3 Player Recovery Tool. I am unable to add/upgrade the Firmware as the Firmware update says 'Your player is not connected, please connect your player'. Any help would me much appreciated, I am close to giving up. |

How are you getting yours to go into Recovery mode? Mine will show Rebuilding for ages and then straight into Firmware Error and if I hit reset, it just goes through the whole process again.

my guess would be hard drive failure.. Ever drop your player? or toss it accidently ? or have it for a good few years ?

I concur, impending hard drive failure. Have you tried going into recovery mode and format all? I'd try that first before condemning the drive.
