I've heard people mention DMB and DAB in the same breath when talking about this device, are they the same? (Or if not is DMB backwards compatible with DAB?)
Also are there any Europeans (Especially English people) who have this player, and if so, can you get digital radio through this player? I bought my device in Japan and updated it with american firmware so I've never tried DMB, but I don't wanna install Korean firmware and not be able to backdate it back to 2.10. |

DMB and DAB are different standards for digital broadcast. Backwards compatibility is not an issue since they are completely different. SPINN is not able to receive DAB.
There are only a couple of countries in Europe which use the DMB standard: Norway and maybe some places in Germany. I haven't been to either lately so I haven't had a chance to test DMP on the SPINN. |

DAB capable cowon players can use DMB via a FM update. I dont know if thats because they use the same chip or whatever but either way we have both DAB and DMB off the same players over here
