Hi. I just bought the M1 since I have heard lots of good reviews and the support for open formats like OGG. I hooked it up to my Ubuntu 9.10 and it have difficulties copying audio and video files to M1. I tried to copy text files and create text files in M1 via Ubuntu and pictures and they worked...but what puzzles most is why fail to copy video and audio files when pictures and text files can be copied fine. I tried to unmount / safely remove the M1 from Ubuntu but it does always have a problem especially when i attempted to copy audio and video files to M1 before I unmount it. I was left with no choice but to plug it out direct from the USB cable.
I tried M1 with Windows XP and it worked fully fine. I can open it as an USb device and copy audio , video , text , pictures...etc.. without any single problem and unmount it without any problems. How should I get M1 to work properly with Ubuntu 9.10 ? |

You're in MSC mode right? Not MTP?
If yes, that's very srange. I thought MSC/UMS was enought to be fully compatible with Linux. Do you have the latest firmware 1.27?

WA=West Asia.
You probably bought your M1 in Asia right? Where do you live? Anyway, WA is like KR, you don't have a feature to choose the PC connection mode, it's only MSC/UMS. So I don't understand why there is a problem on linux. You cannot put any music or video on it or is it just a problem of safe unmout?

When I try to copy small amount of music... it would try to copy and when I unmount it ...it would keep trying to write to M1. If it's a huge chunk of more than 10 over MB... the file operation dialog would have the status bar move abit and then hang there.

Okay.
I don't know what is the problem. Maybe you should ask on a linux forum. I know there are linux softwares to support and manage DAP
