I suppose I am one of the few who actually still uses and enjoys this "ugly sibling" from the Sansa family. I recently bought a LOD from this place, and it works great together with a Fiio E5. I like the smooth sound of the View (probably because the highs are rolled off, or so I have heard) and the Fiio E5 bumps the bass up a bit.

I doubt that there will ever be rockbox for the Sansa View, but despite owning 4 other players (perhaps 5 soon if I can find a used Kenwood Hd20ga7 at a good price here in Japan), I frequently use the View.

So for me the combination of View + LOD + Fiio E5 is great.
