Hotkey not set!

How do I set the hotkey in Rockbox? Under General Settings, it gives me the option to view the hotkey settings and to revert to original, but there are no clear instructions on how to set it! Thanks in advance

When you press the hotkey button on an applicable item in the menus, a dialog screen will pop up asking if you want to assign that item to the hotkey. From my playing around with it, there seem to be very few options that are actually assignable, though ("Insert" in the current playlist can be assigned, for instance, but "insert last" cannot).

What would be an applicable item? I had tried that, I tried mp3 songs, directories, etc. but can't figure it out...

I've been able to set it from the Context Menu in the file browser. For example: Navigate to a song file on your player. Hold the Select (center wheel) button to bring up the Context Menu. Press (don't hold...sorry, I was wrong about that in my last post) the Hotkey button on "Open With..." or "Delete." Or select "Playlist" and then press the Hotkey button on "Insert". In each of these three instances ("Delete Directory" will also work if you're in the directory Context Menu), a message will pop up saying:

"Set Hotkey: Open With...? [or Set Hotkey: Delete? or Set Hotkey: Insert?]

SELECT = Yes
Any Other = No"

If you press Select, the Hotkey is assigned.

Oh, thanks! That worked! To me that seems like an odd way of doing it, but as long as it works I guess
