Did it start doing this in the out-the-box state or did it connect once or more and just stop working at some point? Try another machine? Did you try using the search function in this forum? This has been covered before and it may quicker to search than to wait for a personalized response.

So if you tried it on several computers I guess it's either the USB connector of the P3 or the USB cable that does not work

I'd return/exchange the unit or send it in for service.

Well, try to buy a new usb-cable online. When the problem is the same, send the usb-cable back. You can also use bluetooth to get files on your p3 but the problem is that it's slow and all the files you recieve come in the Shared Data folder and don't come in the music or video folder. Or just send it to Samsung. Alot easier.

USB malfunction is a completely new error for me. Usually if the flashdrive is dead the PC will says "Please insert a diskdrive to disk X:/". I think you should try another cable.

For the online and no return part, is there still any warranty? I buy most of my stuff online from Amazon, you can 1/Call to the manufacturer for warranty 2/Email the seller to negotiate the best return term (they usually make one if you press them) 3/Fill a dispute to Amazon (should take your money back if the seller send you a broken P3)

Why can't you send it to Samsung for service?
