Default nwz-s638f playback corrupted

Hello everyone, I'd be grateful for your help.

Bought this for daughter's birthday.

All files, including preinstalled ones, have a distorted mix and inaudible vocals. Have fiddled with EQ etc but it seems the device is misreading the files.

Have reset, will try formatting next.

Any suggestions?

hey there...sorry for your woes, but welcome to ABi...

An odd issue to me. I would try, in this order:
- another pair of headphones
- reset and reformat

Not sure what else to suggest...perhaps someone else will chime in...
cheers and good luck,
-lestatar

Reset and reformat is it,.............if it persists return the player for an exchange or refund.

Thanks folks.

Have tried reset and reformat, still no joy.

Was wondering if there was a known software issue/fix but think I'll just get my money back.

All very odd, but thanks for your help.

There's nothing that we know of, but there is a software update. You'd need to go to Sony.com and search for it (since I'm unsure of your geographic local).

Also, normally Sony players are quite reliable, so this is a rare issue IMO. Just exchange it for a new 1 - it's really worth it.
