quicker way to change the volume on the X-Fi2? I think to tap the screen then tap the speaker icon and adjust the slider a bit long-winded.

As long as you're not in an app and the players not locked, you can hold the home button for a second and the volume slider pops up.

I purchased a Radio Shack volume control. It is about 4 inches long and has a dial control in the middle. I know it adds extra junk to your ear bud cord but it works great for me. I used a paint pen to draw the up direction arrow so I can see it without the bi-focals on. I use it on my cell phone player also. Low $$ external fix that works.
