most likely you missed to install the bootloader.
download the RockboxUtility (if you haven't already) and follow the instructions for installing the bootloader. |

I tried the following things :
- the rockbox utility - manual install (with cmd) - automatic install (with rockboxed version from the forum) - upgrade / downgrade original firmware It never detect the modified firmware... with the original its okay, with the modified no! I believe Sansa have changed their product. The one I received is a bit different from the previous : plastic is not polished and central pad is less smooth than my previous Clip+. I really need help, if you have any ideas, you're welcome! |

No, as far as I am aware, SanDisk has not changed the Clip+ design.
What you might want to do is, wipe everything out and start again from a perfectly clean Clip+. And then use RockboxUtility or be sure to follow the manual carefully, step-by-step. |

You can also help by testing a mkamsboot build from SVN.
I only have a 'new design' Fuzev2, not a Clip+ so I can't test myself |

The manual links to the last release of mkamsboot which is not recent enough,
How to get the source is described on http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/UsingSVN Once you have it it's as simple as: cd rbutil/mkamsboot; make If you need help with this you can come on rockbox irc channel |

Yakuza666, I've been able to make rockbox work on your clip+. It turned out that it needed both a change in the way SD cards are accessed (same as some fuze v2 players) and also a change to set the display brightness properly.
Our subversion archive now contains fixes for both of these issues. For the SD card fix a new bootloader is required, but I don't know yet when we will release new bootloaders again. |

I'm having the same issue. If I get the latest build for clip+, the 1.02.09 OF, and the bootloader, I can create the patched firmware but when I load it onto my Clip+ and disconnect, I just get the "refreshing media" screen - no firmware install.
Bertrik - are you saying there is a new bootloader that has not yet been released that I need to use to patch it? |
