Hi!
I'd like to ask something about the 262k colour screen on the X-Fi 2; Despite 262k colours being a huge difference to 16.7 million colours, will it really make that much of a difference when watching videos on a small 3-inch screen anyways? I already said this in my previous thread [new issues keep coming up XP], but this is my final question before I decide to purchase the X-Fi 2 due to its low price. Thanks in advance, -justin |

the colours are just not as vibrant as 16mil colours.
the thing that bothers will be the light gradient, but it is only obvious in dark shadows, or films that are shot in the night. other than that it will not affect the video experience many camera LCD are 262k colours too, including DSLR like canon 450D which i own. if u find that camera LCD are acceptable to look at, then xfi2 screen should not be a problem |

JJLoke, absolutely right. Moving pictures in black are much less than lighter pictures.

Ooh, okay thanks. I guess it would make sense on such a small screen it wouldn't make a world of difference. I'm pretty sure I've made my decision to buy the J3 now though
It's just that with all the downsides of heard about the X-Fi 2, I don't want to regret buying it later, just because it cost much less. One small thing I'm worried about is the lack of a normalizer in the J3, but that's about it.Thanks for the replies! |

I've been quite impressed by the X-fi 2 video-wise.
I used the guide on this forum and ripped 20+ dvds into movies. It's been great - this morning I just finished The Big Lebowski at the gym ![]() It can get a bit dark depending on movie/scene but it's still decent. |

pyradark, I'd just to point out you might have mistaken the video resolution. the 640*480 for the X-Fi 2 is the resolution it is able to play up to, whereas the 480*270 is he pixel resolution for the J3. The pixel resolution of the X-Fi 2 is in fact 400*240 pixels.
