zen x-fi problem during transfer

Hey guys I'm having a major problem with my player. I was having a hard time figuring out how to transfer a video file using the Creative Centrale(which as I have read is according to the consensus a load of sh**) and thinking the program has crashed quickly stopped it from task manager...bad idea...Obviously the transfer wasn't finished and when I unplug the player the docked screen stays and it won't plug back in. I plug it back in but it won't show in my computer and won't unplug from safely remove hardware; it just disappears under the radar after a few minutes of idling.

I've tried reinstalling the device driver but it won't even do that, it just says the device has malfunctioned and what-not and won't complete the process.
I'm prepared for the worst but does anyone have an idea if this is repairable?
I haven't tried plugging it in another PC yet. Will try it first thing tomorrow.

P.S. I'm running Vista if that has something to do with anything.
