I do find myself missing some of the animated menus of the official firmware... Has anybody found a way to get these onto rockbox?

Rockbox menus do not support animations as of now.
Just to make clear: Rockbox has nothing in common with the stock firmware, it doesn't share anything with it. Everything in Rockbox is written from scratch, without Sandisk involvement.

I guess Rockbox needs an engineer in the role of, Director of Bling.

I too wish that Rockbox has animations just like the original firmware, I miss the animations. It would be great if you could create your own animations for the Rockbox firmware.

Animations are just a waste of time and usability. Furthermore, the menu/list layout of Rockbox is totally different than the stock firmware (many more menu items in RB would need many more icons, etc) - where would you cram animations in?
If you're in need of animations on your Clip+, just play Doom on it.

I do agree, the only plus to animations is they look pretty. But everything else is bad about them. I don't need animations, I disable all of them on my Win7 laptop, but I just thought it would be cool. And besides lack of animations, the Rockbox interface is much easier and faster than that of the Sansa firmware.

My only thought, bling often can be nice. Life and technology--even wonderful music-playing technology--can be too sterile.
