Hi,
I bought a S545 recently. I have 2 major issues with my piece which is really irritating 1) I hear an annoying noise from the earphones when player is switched off. 2) The sound output of the player becomes very funny when I increase the volume beyond 17. 18 and beyond I can't understand even one word of what is coming out of player. It sounds as if I have made a funny combination of equalizer. The same problem is there when I play FM also. But this I have only when I am using the earphones, not the built-in speaker. I am in India and got the player as a gift from a friend visiting from US. So, I can't get it replaced also as my friend already returned back to US. ![]() Any assistance would be helpful. Thanks |

You're not going to like this.
Contact Sony and explain to them your situation because, sadly, it seems you have a unit that was defective out of the box.

I must sadly concur with Strephon - the symptoms you describe sound very unusual and probably indicate the device is bad.
Good luck man, -lestatar
