this is weird. i added a few albums to the microSD and put it back in. while having the clip connected i updated to another rb build. and now the folder browsing is screwed...
when i click on an album folder, it turns up empty - but the album is accessable from the database browsing. i've tried updating database, initialize, removing card and putting it back in...nothing works. any clues?

I'm not a Rockbox user but this sounds exactly like the good old MSC vs MTP situation. Files added under one, now you can't find them under the other.

ok. i only use MSC so that's odd..and it's not in the computer that i can't find the files, it's in the clip.

If you're still using my build, try an unaltered one - this is my first attempt at patching anything, and I can't guarantee you I got it right... (though, to be honest I'd be surprised if it successfully compiled then exhibited behaviour like this).
If that doesn't help, try formatting the card and copying the stuff back across maybe? |

Try a vanilla build first - I might have just screwed up compiling it somehow. Not impossible at all.
You could also always run a filesystem check on the card. |

Does the Context Menu show the path in the database?

yes it does.. and i've changed to the newest build now and its the same. really weird...i can access all files in the database so its not a problem that way, but i really prefer folder browsing because in the database music, podcasts and audiobooks are all mixed..
i've found that its not only the files on the card but also the ones on the clip that doesnt show. all album folders are empty. when i context menu the folders it says there are files in them and the total size and all.. |

If the database is seeing the files they are there but for some reason you aren't seeing them in the Rockbox file browser. Are you saying they can been seen the Windows Explorer? What Properties are the showing in the Explorer menu? Have you enabled Show Files-> All in the Rockbox file browser context menu?
The only time I've had this problem was when the file properties were set to Hidden and I didn't have Show Files set to All. When you install a new build it resets your context menu settings. |
