It was different 30 years ago, but now with digital technology to record and reproduce sound, audio devices from major manufacturers are really accurate. You can assume the default settings give the flat frequency response you should expect from the jack plug.

By Natural i Meant Clear and Not leaning to anything (Bass,treble)Etc

I have no experience with the m9, so I can't really give you any ideas asides from see how the default sounds first.

LOL!!! Leave every setting on 0!! That's as flat & natural as you can get w/a Sony, or any other player that has an EQ, custom settings or presets. Leave everything OFF!!!

Agree with the guys. But IMO, the Sonys do add a touch of extra bass even on flat settings [or so it seems compared to Fuze/Fuze with RB].

Suggest you leave all enhancements off on the Sony S and possibly dip the low end of the EQ down by 1 notch.
