Lightbulb 3D dungeon rendering

I am testing idea about running raycasting engine on Zen X-Fi 2. So far i have found out, that image table functions arent suited for this. (they are too slow)

realtime application as wolfenstein
  • would be really slow. (unplayable)
  • or textures could possibly be cut in advance and it would be stil laggy
  • more so control on zen would be realy unintuitive
on the other hand applications like oldschool dungeon crawlers (dungeon master) are quite possible.
  • movement restricted from one tile center to another
  • rotation restricted to 90 angles
  • whole game would be turn-based
Update:

Yep, it just as i thougth raycasting on zen is soooo slow it takes like 2s to render one frame and thats only rendering walls not ceiling of floor. (writing per pixel is just slow function) [image 1]

On the other hand i have successfully programmed pseodo 3D renderer. (if you dont know what i am talking about google "Dungeon master" or "Eye of the beholder") [image 2, image 2]

It looks cool.
But even if you could make a game with 90 degree turns and one tile movement it would still be great. I had a DOOM game with such restrictions on my phone and it was unreal

This is not a game. This is simply a set of code for developers to intergrate into theirs to allow raycasting, like his TilEd library, or wavecrave.

oh. well it would be cool if someone could make a fps type like doom called "Firearm" it would be cool but idk how to make the games or have the time
