Default Clix Got Washed, help w/Water Damage

My clix got washed along with my pants, and now there's severe condensation on the inside of the screen, and the battery doesn't appear to work when not attached to my computer. Help!

If you tried turning the player on after taking it out of your washed pants, you may have fried it, actually...

When such things happen, the first thing to do is take the battery out. Second thing is let the device dry for several days. After, if the condensation is still there, you may have to disassemble it and let the individual parts dry thoroughly. Don't use hair dryers nor place it in the oven to "speed up" the process; they may damage the sensitive parts of the player!

You could RMA and check whether they can fix it for you. Of course, they may charge a fee for the labor and parts.

Goto clixhere.net right now and goto the clix2 forum, read the sticky thread!

Water damage is not part of the warranty, so you are on your own now. Even iriver want to repair it for you (for a cost), it will take days to send and I can see corrosion eating away your clix2 in the box. Best chance you have is to open it up yourself. Some one already dipped his clix2 in the water and survive With any luck, you might be able to save yours.

If you tried turning it on or connected it to a computer it is fried, and the odds of it ever being usable again is highly unlikely.

The proper procedure when an electronic device is washed/dropped in water is to not attempting to power it on, and putting it in a bag or container of rice until all condensation is gone, but to also wait many days just to be sure.

Sorry for your loss.

Thana did you happen to notice the last post was 3 years ago, could be a thread necromancering record here

If you're looking for a screen replacement you might have more luck searching ebay for a used or broken player, although if your player took a swim like the OP's then I'd say a screen won't make a difference if it was turned on while wet.
