I just Rockboxed my Fuse V1 and am having troubles adding music to it with Windows Media Player. I can see the device and add a playlist but when it tries to sync it fails? I cant drag and drop music over to it either? Sorry for the dumb question. This is the first time trying to load anything to an MP3 player. I am very computer literate just have never played with an MP3. Any help would be appreciated. I am using W7 64bit..

First off, welcome to ABI.
I believe with Rockbox, your Fuse can act as an MSC device, where you can drag and drop from Windows explorer to your player. P.S. I noticed that you mentioned that you have a V1, so that could be an issue. Wait for more posts from people who actually own it and use it on a daily bases.

I can use windows explorer to drag and drop, however I would like to use WMP just because it sorts my music in a more user friendly way...

I don't think Rockbox supports MTP mode, but let's see what other people say.

WMP can be used with Fuze OF with MSC or MTP, but Rockbox requires MSC mode. The playlist thing, that I can't help you with, because I don't use them. It's possible you may need to learn how to make them in Rockbox....another alternative might be to play by folder instead of playlist.....just put the playlist songs into one folder and play that folder.
There are some playlist users here, but not many that use WMP.

Yes, for Rockbox MSC is required......but MSC does not exclude WMP. I used WMP at one point with my Sansa in MSC mode.

I dont care about playlists either...I just want to use WMP to add music to the Fuze. I thought I needed to create a play list to sync with my Fuze. And then WMP will only sync the files that are on the play list. I have way to much music in my library to push on to the Fuze? Is there a better way? I even tried draging and droping music files over the the Fuze pane but it wont....

Is there a specific reason you have to use one of the worst players ever made? If not, then I highly recommend you ditch WMP and use something better, like Media Monkey, J.River, or Winamp.

No reason other than it is there? Do you have a recommendation of the other 3 you mentioned? Only thing I will do with it is use it to sync music with the Fuze. And that it will display my library better than using Windows Explorer....

The three I mentioned are the generally tried and proven ones (besides iTunes), they should work well for people preferring to sync their music, much better than WMP. Media Monkey is the most popular, and it's free software.

That is the problem. I cant get music there. The only thing I can add in that pane is a playlist. Then when I try to sync the playlist it takes a microsecond and errors out...nothing syncronizes..

All I did was drag the picture of an album, drag it over there, and dropped it....no playlist involved at all. Is that what you did?

One last idea.....try booting your Fuze into the Sansa firmware before you connect, and see if the same thing happens. It's worth a try, I guess. If that doesn't work, maybe yu will have to ditch WMP and either drag and drop or try another one of the programs dfkt mentioned earlier.
