What would you like to see in the next Firmware update?

Rockbox does things a bit differently. Perhaps the most important function is the CONTEXT button.

Holding the Fuze center button for a long press brings up a Context menu for virtually every single item/folder/file on your device. Once in Context menu, you can perform all basic file/folder commands.



But yes, reading the Rockbox manual is required reading...

Thank you, I DIDN'T READ the fine print slowly enough

I have both the Sansa firmware & Rockbox. 2 things I notice :

1. While booting to the stock firmware, there are now lots of pictures that were not there before & can be accessed through Photos. These come from Rockbox, and can be accidentally deleted (in fact, by mistake, I did delete 1 or 2, then remembered they are related to Rockbox, most probably, Themes). Can anything be done to hide them from the stock firmware?

2. Some photos which were viewable in my stock FW cannot be viewed in Rockbox. Using the File menu option and browsing to the relevant folder(s) show these as empty. What's going on here?

I for SURE, want to see Gapless Playback! Number one priority! Maybe a customizable interface, Like changeable backgrounds, and themes, instead of the same one, with just the change of colors. And an option to turn off that d*** blue light, around the Click wheel! That thing will give people headache's, when listening to it in bed!

And I don't know if they ever fixed that clicking sound with the voice recorder, but if they didn't, THAT would be cool, if they could do that in the next Firmware.

Larger album art, MAYBE a Sansa version of Cover flow, So they don't get sued or anything, for being accused of taking Apple's Cover Flow. XD

And this is not relating to firmware, but maybe they can Fix the Sansa Video Converter, so it DOESN'T crash every 5 seconds, and supports more file formats. And smaller file size.

I AM REALLY HOPING, SANSA READ'S THIS, AND EVERYONE'S IDEA'S!

Dump the OF, get Rockbox instead. Keep both if you want to play slotRadio cards.

Sorry, that was meant for musicofthespheres & for anyone else still interested in slotRadio, till RB gets support for that 2(very unlikely, though).

slotRadio is DRM protected. Rockbox doesn't deal with DRM protected files at all. It's at the top of the NoDo list. So I doubt that would ever be implemented. The concept of freeing your hardware and then tying to a locked down file system just wouldn't make sense.

yeah, thats y i said very unlikely. As an aside, i always use video4fuze in lieu of SMC for videos.

The fuze has already been discontinued, so no sense talking about new firmware updates.
