I'm only asking because I've seen massive price differences.
For example (I'm in Aus so all are in Aussie dollars) This 16GB S545 is selling for $135 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SONY-Walkman-...item19c142d0bd This one is selling for $249 http://www.minidisc.com.au/sony-nwzs...ck-p-1801.html I know one is a store and one is off eBay but the difference in price is huge. So would the eBay item be a fake? Ah answering my own question after reading properly. The eBay item is refurbished. Is this a big down do you think? well, the difference is huge, indeed. even for a refurbished unit. BUT you have customer protection, it's a power seller and they claim: " This item is a CERTIFIED SONY REFURBISHED UNIT restored back to NEW like condition." refurbished could mean anything, from returned, dented finish, to previously bricked, rma'd and repaired to normal condition. it could be worse though.
however, if you want to return it, you are required to do it within 3 days, and you bear the shipping costs. i don't know, kinda bad conditions if you ask me.

Even if someone copies outside of a player/device (just as there are lots of Chinese clones of ipods) but I think one can not replicate Firmware.

Next to the 3 day(!) return policy, it's pretty shady that they print the important refurb info in such small print, and way down on the page. I would stay away from that seller.
