refreshing your media stuck

recently i dl'ed some new tunes to toss on my fuze.. went through drag n drop like always and unplugged the lil guy and let him refresh.. problem was he didnt would get a lil ways in and would freeze.. is this just pretty much a case that i need to reformat the card ? even after deleting the files it still hangs up ..

I would try a format with SD Formatter and hopefully that will fix it. Just to be safe I will also add a disclaimer that formatting will permanently delete the contents.

+1 with Adub...try the formatter but yes, back up all your music first.

Other stuff to try:
- check your ID3 tags...Sandisk players can be slightly finicky with the preferred ID3 encoding; use mp3tag http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...LKbZhBOklD5FMg and also I think Adub has mentioned another applet recently that will help clean/strip your ID3 tags so you can start from scratch...Adub?

- check your music files for integrity [install Foobar and d/l and install the File Integrity Verifier plugin - an extremely handy applet]

As an example, I run every single music file I acquire/RIP through 4 different mp3 file integrity verifiers [and now a FLAC verifier] before they get added to my permanent library.

A little work beforehand has ensured me of 10+ years of basically trouble/hassle-free digital music enjoyment.

What is this FLAC verifier of which you speak? That could be a useful thing for me.
