I recently bought a still in sealed box 30GB ZVM off of craigslist, and was very excited to get it going. I let it charge, installed the software, and it turned on and connected to the computer and everything. Its now stuck in recovery mode with a firmware number of 0.0.22. I tried to update the firmware, but it wont show being connected. The docked thing is on the screen, but no connection other than showing a 50MB player on my computer.
Please help, my old zen was my favorite and I want to keep using the ZVM for as long as possible. |

You are using XP. If your Windows Media Player is version 11 then you will need to roll it back to WMP10. Also if all you did was select reload firmware from the recovery screen you Erased your firmware which is why it's not working. The number on the recovery screen is not the players firmware it is the version number of the recovery console. The 50mb you see is the partition where the firmware is stored. You say it was sealed & brand new?/I say it was not. However if the drive is good it is fixable. I would suggest going over to Creative & when you post include your OS the service pack & WMP version. http://forums.creative.com/t5/MP3-Players/bd-p/dap
