Does a rockboxed clip+ continues to play connected to an extra-juice source?
If yes, do you recommend any particular portable power supply?

5V and at least around 350 mA (better 500 mA) and above.

Yes, it continues playing. I recommend this one: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/1000ma-...-european-2381 - better and cheaper than many "brand" chargers.
