NEW version (v1 & v2) here:
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...4&postcount=22 http://rapidshare.com/files/44442733...box_fuzev2.zip (Pardon the crappy hosting) Included are the following patches: * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11577 Better crossfeed (Meier v2) * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11679 "Smart menus" with faster and more convenient navigation: Menus remember the last position when changing from the settings menu to the While Playing Screen. * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/5153 Doom Scrollwheel Patch: Allows the player to use the scrollwheel for sideways motion (strafing). Further additions: * All fonts from the official font pack + several custom ones (thanks to 'Anapan', who converted these!) * (Very) slightly reworked default icons that look better on themes with a bright background * Corrected hold switch behaviour (a recent SVN bugfix) If anyone finds this useful or wants a build for the Fuze v1, please let me know.

Pretty good...
The menu thing feels just natural and should be included in the normal rockbox build. Meier v2 rocks collapses the soundstage but does not make the sound muddy like the original crossfeed in rockbox. Didn't try the doom thing.(don't play doom on my fuze). The hold switch behaviour is now like the OF.(tried to do it myself once but could not make head or tail of the c files so left it.) Didn't notice the change in the icons.(Not a bad thing). Lots of fonts.(some of them useless like the 16 Chicago and 16 Pokemon {Too big to see anything}) After all the good news one bad one too. Crashed once don't know the reason yet or how to reproduce it yet. May not be related to the build, will continue to use it and report back. Thanks. |

Thanks for your feedback, akbarhash.
Only a few icon pixels where changed, for example the icon for the recording screen didn't look too good in front of a white background. 14- and 15-Chicago fonts provide the best readability, IMHO. As for the crash: I don't know, these are very small and unobtrusive patches, so I don't think the crash is related to them. Might be a coincidence.

Id like the very same for the Fuze v1.
Or is there any quick way to apply these patches, the way I understood is you have to apply them to the source and then build the firmware. That is a bit hard for me, having started with rockbox yesterday. The whole source package is 36meg that cant be. It would be nice if you could compile that for v1. Or if you could tell me how to do this in windows. |

günter:
I can do that, sure. I just noticed today that the menu patch no longer works with current SVN builds, so I have to omit that one. If that's okay for you I'll upload a new build with the other stuff included. Edit: I can also compile the exact same version I linked above, but it won't include the latest daily changes / updates. Your choice. ;-)

I think I have the newest version because I used the installer.
So I think its ok to have one patch missing and to have the newest build. Thanks again. |

Nope, Rockbox is under constant development and new code is committed every day. The latest release build installed by Rockbox
Utility is already several weeks / months old… So here you go: http://rapidshare.com/files/44739401...box_fuzev1.zip Untested, because I don't have a v1. May I ask what got you interested in this custom build (as a user who is very new to Rockbox, I mean)?

Just a suggestion: Maybe try Mediafire instead of Rapidsh*t for your uploads. It has no waiting time for downloads, and you can keep track of how many people downloaded the files.

Thanks for the suggestion. Indeed, Mediafire looks like a much more sensible hoster.
But I think I will install Dropbox soon. That's probably an even better solution.

It works for me, but Rapidshare is even more crappy than I thought: it has a 10 downloads limit.
I'll upload the v1 build again via Mediafire.

I think it's 10 downloads and then nothing…
Hum. I wanted to wait for the Rockbox developers to fix the database bug in v3.8 and later builds. Then I'll upload a new custom build with the above mentioned patches and the recently added support for antialiased fonts. Deal?

Oh well, it'll probably take some time to hunt down this really mysterious bug.
Here you are: http://www.mediafire.com/file/xis5vj...box_fuzev1.zip
