Scroll Wheel light turns off screen

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to what could cause every-time the scroll wheel light comes on, it turns off the screen until it turns back off.

Does anyone have any ideas at all as to what could cause this?

huh....that is pretty odd behavior if I understand you right...

How old is the thing?
Is it Rockboxed? If not, perhaps give RB a shot and see if it addresses the issue.

maybe a hardware problem...you can try to rockbox your player then disable the scroll wheel light, that might do the trick *hopefully*

I've figured out it works on both RB and OFW, I've already installed it BTW. I already disabled the light and it works perfectly fine but I don't understand what could've caused it. The problem started while I was playing rockblox, and I don't think I've dropped it enough or high enough to damage it.

i don't have much clue either, but it sounds to me like a "hardware" problem.
it could be a cold soldering joint, for example.

Seems like on of the fuses (no pun intended) blew or something like that.

I don't know, really, I have no idea what the internal hardware structure of the Fuze is like. I'm merely posting to increase my postcount try and help out.

Well I'm still having the issue with OFW but Rockbox I just disabled the scroll wheel light.

Through my experiences with fuze, i've learnt that in case something doesnt work/doesnt work properly, a reinstallation of RB or OF fixes the problem. Reinstall OF, see if things work,and then reinstall rockbox (you can backup ur settings in RB), and see what happens. And, i have read in forums and googled too, "The hardware on our Fuzes, doesnt like the LCD and scroll wheel light to be turnd on for a long time at max possible brightness (the lower left or maybe right corner of the device starts getting hot, and generaly after that people have problems with LCD/scroll wheel light)".if under warranty, i recommend sending it in for repair.
