Help Clip+ audiobook menu hierarchy

I recently purchased a Clip+ (and some 16GB uSD cards) which I use for audio books.

I am delighted with it in every way except one (actually I prefer it to the 32GB iPod that was stolen from me).

The shortcoming is as follows:

I can copy a folder of audiobooks (including subfolders) to the audiobook folder of the Clip+ uSD card.

This is very good.

However, in the Clip+ menu, the folder structure is "flattened".

This is very bad.

The Clip+ seems to organize MP3 files by album, so that each album is a menu item, and selecting it shows the titles for the album.

However, this allows only a single level of "sub folder".

At the least, I need 2.

I would like to select the author, then possibly select the series or short
story colllection, then select the novel or short story.

(yes, I could set the album tag to the author's name, but then each short story of a collection would reside directly in the menu for the author)

It would make far more sense for the device to ignore tags, and have the menu reflect the directory structure.

This would be far more flexible, and I see no disadvantages.

At least, this should be an option.

Am I missing something?

Any suggestions?

Are you navigating via the database or via the folderview (at the bottom of the Music selection listing)?

I understand what you're saying as I have that issue with audio short stories on my e-reader, where I've had to tag the tracks in a somewhat complicated manner to include title and narrator.

In your case, I think I'd keep each item as a separate "book" instead.
