I did a detailed review of the Clip+ audio performance not long ago, and was so impressed, it made me very curious about the Fuze. So I figured I should buy one before they're all gone.
I just got my Fuze and subjected it to the same detailed tests I did with the Clip+ using a professional dScope audio analyzer. And, it's probably not a surprise to many here, the Fuze performed nearly identically to the Clip+. For anyone curious to know more you can check out the review: http://nwavguy.blogspot.com/2011/02/...ni-review.html

The Fuze v2 is identical to the Clipv2 and Clip+. Same hardware, different plastic shell.
I'm guessing you had a v2 player? |

You bring up a good point with the version. I'll add it to the blog review, but it's V02.03.33A. And yeah, I had not seen anyone say it was literally identical hardware, only "similar", but I'm not surprised.
