I am interested in this not as an Android device, but as a music player. But what is with the battery life on this thing? Assuming you leave wifi off, and use it only for music, is 21 hours or less all you get out of this thing? The J3 is rated at 50 hours or more ... whats with the huge difference?

Just get the J3. Seriously.

Like DFKT said. Get the J3. IMO, the D3 os overly expensive, and is still too buggy. The J3 offers up to 63 hours of music playback, almost three times than that of the D3.
If you must have an Android device I think the Archos 43 is much better.

Despite being AMOLED, the screen is what uses the most energy. Android puts a drain over the top as many apps often ping for a web connection, open automatically in the background, etc.. Cowon threw a big battery in there, as it takes 7 hours over USB to charge with the D3 in sleep mode or 3 with a 2A AC charger. If you want Wifi and apps, you can't expect much more. Not even Apple's Touch does better. Leave WiFi on and it'll run dry within a few hours.

I think this is incorrect. The iPod Touch 4G plays music up to 40 hours. WiFi cuts it a lot shoter, however.
