how to see pics and videos on Fuze?

hi, before i was registered here i tried to do my homework and do it myself
i have sansa fuze 4 gb and mac laptop
i transferred mp3's to sansa and no problem, then i converted avi file to mp4, but i cant visualize mp4 on sansa.
i also converted jpeg's into 3 different file extensions, so i can load on sansa, but either i cant see them, or sansa says " sansa doesnt support media file"
what can i do and and what media converter should i use for mac?
