I have a sony cpf-ix001 s-master dock. The sound is awesome for the size and I use it sometimes with the wifi option (not the greatest tho).
After conflicting research I understand that the early nw-s 600 & 700 series work with the dock and the remote? If so I need to get one of those early models. I have put ad in classifieds. Secondly, has anybody or someone you know got a New model of the same series or other series that has supringly worked with same dock and remote. Its based on W-port so their should be quite a few sony mp3 players with that spec. Love to know, then I can buy a decent size newer model new/used, rather than the stupid costs the early models are going for on ebay.. Ive asked Sony, they don't know..typical Thanks |

Doesn't it have a 3.5mm line in? In which case you can use any mp3 player, albeit without the remote. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-CPFIX00.../dp/B000K9DMDS
The line-out of my Sony, for example, is meant to sound worse than the 3.5mm headphone out. |

hey nodirectionhome, yep it has a 3.mm socket, which is good and I do use that sometime too, but maybe its lazy or what..but ur listening to some music a distance a away..and you have to go to the player just to change tracks...the remote option is far easier..especially when track hopping.
I thought its got the connector..make use of it..lol |

The thing is, you would probably be able to find one of those earlier Walkmans but the battery life on it might not be so great.

I would speculate that the dock works with all WM port devices. I know from personal experience the the AVRCP and A2DP functions of the Walkman Bluetooth Adapter works on old and new devices alike. The audio out and remote pins would be identical.
