Hi,
I cobbled together a new build with a patch that should hopefully fix the database problem on Sansa AMS v2 players. Although it works very well for me, it may still be safer to back up your files before you try it. This build is newer than v3.8 and thus supports embedded album art in m4a files and font antialiasing. Again, I applied these patches: * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11577 Better crossfeed (Meier v2) * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/5153 Doom Scrollwheel Patch: Allows the player to use the scrollwheel for sideways motion (strafing) [ * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11679 ] The menu patch doesn't work anymore * several fonts + slightly reworked standard icons Only for v2: * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/12001 Patch #2 eliminates the database bug observed on several Sansa AMS v2 devices. Thanks to sideral for suggesting it. * http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11304 This one may or may not improve audio quality Downloads: v2: http://www.mediafire.com/?gw7jel1j7010z5x v2, w/o FS 11304: http://www.mediafire.com/?afl3eg53m6cpw8w v1 (untested): http://www.mediafire.com/?5gylai9lr445bz2

Thanks Progweed, will try your build tomorrow (forgot my fuze usb cable at work
). I compiled my own yesterday with the Meier v2 patch (tried Meier v3 as well) applied to check out what the Meier crossfeed sounds like (it's not bad...) but your build has more useful patches applied which is nice (especially DB fix). Greatly appreciated.

thanks for the new V2 build will try it out tonight
update: Got to install it last night (had to do it on my wife's XP laptop, as my Win7 desktop has decided not to mount my FuzeV2 any more) =( Anyways, it seems to work well & happily no database issues. Thank you for providing this for us! Will be trying the crossfeed tonight.

Thanks progweed, v1 seems to work.
![]() Meier crossfeed is very subtle and I understand you cant change anything. Maybe this was the little thing that my cowon player had even though everything was turned off and the fuze hadnt. Now Ill need to listen to everything with and without meier crossfeed. |

Are we able to adjust the Meier crossfeed settings , or are they just set as default in this instance? I'm confused by what I read at the link for the Xfeed patch & what I see on my Fuze. Thanks for any insight & sorry if this is off topic to this thread.

cBc: Nope, Meier settings are hardcoded, so you can't change anything. The options only affect the original crossfeed (renamed to "Custom" in the menu).
@günter: Really? I find it very noticeable. Meier v3 is even more subtle, but it's of course all down to personal taste, your headphones and the kind of music you're listening to. Akbarhash put it well, I think: "Meier v2 rocks collapses the soundstage but does not make the sound muddy like the original crossfeed in rockbox." As a side note, I think patch 11304 is a battery hog. Maybe I'm imagining things… Perhaps I should upload a build without it.

I edited my post to include a build without FS 11304.

Thanks for the custom build, i have been using this for about a week now (for the v1 and no problems thus far).
![]() Any chance or changing scroll left/right to turn left/right respectively in a future version? would feel more natural that way imo. |

You mean the Doom scrollwheel patch? Yes, using the wheel for turning would indeed feel much more natural. Unfortunately the current behaviour cannot be altered without modifying the source code (which wasn't written by me). I could probably do it, but I would need to dig a bit deeper into the code before trying that.

Hi all,
I compiled convttf for Windows in case you want to use antialiased fonts in any of the above builds. Example usage: convttf.exe -p <height in pixels> <font.ttf> ![]() http://www.mediafire.com/file/6xqh4c...b1/convttf.zip

Progweed
Can you add the line out http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/12074 for the fuze V2 on top of the previous patches on 3.9 ? I would love to get this feature |

Progweed
Was wondering if you had created a newer build based on 3.9 . I loaded 3.9 vanilla on my Fuze recently ,forgetting about your tweeks, dang it.

Hi all,
I was hesitant to upload a new version because I lately encountered some database related problems again. (The bug is mentioned here: www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/12175) So better backup your files before trying this build and/or turn off the directory cache. Fuze v1: http://www.mediafire.com/file/gctqe4...box_fuzev1.zip Fuze v2: http://www.mediafire.com/file/6w236y...box_fuzev2.zip @guli22 Done

Oh yeah! Line out finally! Thanks to Progweed and all others involved...and I'm sure that the benefits of being able to use my LOD with Rockbox will far outweigh the inevitable bugs.
