Smile Vision W screwy headphone issue fix

I recently purchased one of these devices from Ebay. The seller stated that everything worked until the headphones were plugged in then it would proceed to shutdown.

I figured out that if the headphones were plugged in then turned on it would work somewhat. The vocals were weird, the songs would fast-forward and do all sorts of other erratic behavior.

After a little research I figured out it had something to do with the option of adding a wired remote to the headphone jack. I took it apart and discovered that the headphone common terminal was isolated from a common return(ground). I added a small jumper wire from the headphone jack ground to a nearby ground (tantalum capacitor) and it is now working perfectly. That was easy.

Default Problem Solved - Sort of...

Okay, under the instructions of the member above I patched the ground on the audio jack into another ground on the board and it worked.

The only problem is that it disabled the on board speaker.
Well it is a trade off. If you want your player to work properly with the earbuds plugged in, you must ground the audio jack better.

Like I said, it disables the onboard speaker. But you get a usable player in return.
Also, you can use external speakers if you want the sound to he shared with other people. Which might be preferable considering the speaker is so weak.
If someone needs help with the repair, just email me. I will be happy to help.
