Could anyone tell me how loud this is? i currently have a Zen X-FI2 that is really loud can anyone make a comparison?

I think loundness really depends on a few varying factors. But All the mp3 players I've ever owned have the ability to reach uncomfortable levels. But your earphones, type of music, enviornment, and ear health play huge roles too. I think in Europe media players have a lower volume output by law than the US.
Test your hearing, play your music at the desired level, and then hold you arm out in front of you, then snap your fingers. If you can't hear the snap then your music is too loud. You're risking permanent hearing loss.

The G50 has not been officially upgraded to Android 2.2 or 2.3 and I'm not even sure it will ever be.
But maybe it's possible to hack the device and install these versions as that works on some smartphones...
