The original DOOM had a "half-3d" of sorts. Could something similar be achieved? I'm not claiming to know anything im just wondering if that would be possible. Also to provide some constructive criticism. Could you add backgrounds that aren't black, add some variety.Maybe cover to hide behind?

As far as i know doom is "3d". It would be impossible to achieve anything near the visual effects/framerate of it. As for backgrounds, this project is currently on hold because of Pingus X-fi2, we are currently making a brand new engine that will allow for automatic collision mapping and level image generation. When I do finish Pingus, I will probably stop developing for the x-fi2 and move onto Android. I already have a project idea for android and have found a friend of mine to do art for the game.
