Not sure if I get in trouble for linking my own article (pls let me know if this is an issue):
Editorial: Zune Pass Music and WP in Australia – or “I want my Zune Pass too” http://t.co/FazL8Co via Sheeds Blog It's worth seeing how lucky you guys are to get Zune Pass - and the passion and interest in Australia to "complete" Windows Phone and deliver Zune full functionality. Lots of interest and strong views...

I hate the price discrimination you mention. That bit really got to me, but it is very true - price discrimination across all countries is due to the greed of some guy on a comfy seat in an office overlooking a city somewhere, gouging out pockets of certain populations. I understand the different taxes on products and import prices, and also how the exchange rate affects it but still no excuse for the differences some people need to pay to get legal stuff. I would love the opportunity for the pass, and would love to give it a crack. I would probably just leave it on smart DJ all the time
![]() Not to get too off topic, but anyway, your article here http://www.***********.au/blog/?p=746 was pretty interesting. I dealt with Telstra last night, for like 40 mins in fact fixing my Home Network Gateway. I also share your frustration with Telstra's annoying process and structure and how it takes FOREVER to get to someone who will help you, but once you do, the people I have spoken to in the past year or so actually sound passionate about what they are doing, and take a genuine interest in your problem trying to solve it. So kudos to Telstra there. Now, they need to halve their costs down to what Vodafone is doing, and it will be all good.

The prices also have something to do with the recording industries, if I'm not mistaken. That's the main hold up with releasing any subscription service anywhere. MS has already had to get through that legal mess in America, and will have to do the same with any other places that they want to make Zune Pass available. And I don't see why they wouldn't want to bring it everywhere, seeing as articles like this one highlight the market out there for a service like it.
