jbob182: You think the player is considered idle when holding a button?
That's kinda strange...

I am not expert but in my opinion yes. Depending on how they programmed the ideal shut down, it could register holding the home button as ideal. This is how i think it was programmed:

If the player does not return any changes in value from user input (such as touch screen or button, accelerometer is out becuase it is always changing) then activate the shutdown, since (as you might now) when holding down the "home" button, it returns a value of 1, else 0, (or true and false, whatever your prefer). Now, as i said before, if the value does not change (keyword) in a peroid of ie: 5 minuts the it activates. So pretty much, it will register no change in the input becuase the value is always 1.
How you could fix this is the following

1. Turn off ideal shutdown...
2. Use this speed hack Redwolfhome and I discovered:
put this right at the beginning of your while loop :
Quote:
c=control.read()
c=1
then replace the check of: "if control.read() == 1 then"
to: "if c==1 then"
(You might have to add control.read()=0 at the end of your lope to change the value, so it seems that there is constant new input)
Doing this will "emulate" user input and stop the ideal shutdown, and it speeds up the game on the player. (I noticed awhile ago that like on the emulator, if you move your finger really fast across the screen, the game speeds up). Note: the speed up is not huge but it still helps a bit, and will stop the ideal shutdown (possibly, but i am not sure), if it doesn't work , try a variation , such as emulating a button press and release while the character is in the air and not touching any platforms, ie:

Quote:
button.hold() = 0
button.hold() = 1
button.hold() = 0

It is good to hear that some of these X-FI 2 apps now have websites! Just one question, how many floors are there images for? Does it loop the images for the floors after that, of does it just end the game?

The game ends only when you fall. That means you can theoretically reach any floor number up to infinity.
There are 11 different floor styles (up to 1000). After you reach 1000, the style stays the same for the rest of the game.

Anyway, more floor styles could be added in the future. I've got holiday right now, so maybe I'll continue the project. (If I figured out what causes the random crashes, I could even release version 1.0.)
