Sony to Stop Producing MiniDisc Walkman
CNET is reporting that Sony will cease production of its MiniDisc Walkman this September due to lack of demand.
MiniDisc was originally introduced in 1991 by Sony and went on to sold over 22 million as of March 2011.

Yeah they were. Inevitable, really. And a bit of a shame as I have a couple of them. Hey, that's progress, right?
I mean we now have instead craptastic gear like HyFyMan DAPs.

Yea it was great in its hay day but it’s about time to retire after a 20+ year life span and mucho millions sold over the 22 million sold they quoted. IMO its time they sell the latest tech everywhere rather than flooding third world countries with old tech. One of the things sony does that bothers me is they sell one thing here and another there, we never even got many of their players here :|
