How to put an application onto your device.

What program are you using to extract them? i suggest 7-zip, a free program that gets the job done. What do you mean by curpted? like the zip wont extract?

Do you have a firmware supporting apps? You need to have upgraded from the stock one, you will know if you can have apps by seeing an applications icon on the main menu. Check this first and report back.

i fix it, its easy when you start the zen press and hold MENU button and you get clean up, format all, and reboot, choice clean up and then reboot thats it

I have a problem too. I have downloaded the newest firmware as seen as I do have an application map when I'm just looking around on my X-Fi2. But when I want to place applications in the map on the computer, I do not have an application map. Anyone knows a solution? =)

*Edit: Already found it, I was looking at my memory card in stead of the MP4 player.

I have tried downloading both the GTAriving Forward http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=54729 game app and also the guitar hero/tap hero game app and all I see is a small file when I open each of the folders. The GTA app gives me a "35 File" and I moved it to my zen to see if thats all I needed to play, but it doesnt show up at all in my player. It seems all of the xeroo.net apps appear on my player but not the few I've downloaded here at anythingbutipod. :/ Is there a special program I need to get this to work? Or am I doing something wrong?

Have you move the folder or have you move the content of the folder to your zen?
The right way is to move the folder on your player.
Can you see the app on your zen or not?

That's not right, all the zipped apps contain one game folder with at least a main.lua file and an icon.png file in it (and maybe some other files and/or folders, depending on the app). The game folder will be recognized by the Zen as an application. - so extracting the ZIP to the application folder on the Zen should work.

Still, many users experience problems with unzipping and are getting weird files like you say, but in most cases using a different unzipping program (try 7-Zip or WinRAR) resolves that and then they are getting the normal game folder with the files in it.

Very weird why you don't have this issue with the ZIPs from xeroo.net, I can't test it myself because they all unzip fine for me (both Win7 tool and WinRAR).

Ah I actually discovered that it was the archiver program I was using. I switched to 7-zip and I was able to see a folder rather than just a blank file. Thanks for the replies!

I know it's been said many, many times, but I really can't detect an applications folder. I've updated my firmware and I've reinstalled it, as suggested, but nope, still nothing. Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Do you have the applications icon on your main menu? have you held home while starting it and done a cleanup?
