I've done a little Googling, and searched a bit on eBay, and for some reason, the D3 in the 16Gb version costs more than the 32Gb version. Is there any reason for that?

The 32gb one was orginally very expensive, so sales weren't very good. The 16gb one sold well enough at it's MSRP. The result? The 32gb one is marked down to sell.

Ok, thanks for the help. I am thinking of buying one, since the YP-GB1 is taking forever to release in North America (been waiting since January).

Just a quick question: does the 2.3 Gingerbread update improve performance to an acceptable, or "average" level?

Gingerbread came with some nice customizing features making the D3 a better wiwfi PMP. The D3 still is a decent music player but doesn't do gapless playback with its stock music player. It struggles a bit with graphics-intensive games still. My guess is that Cowon has maxed out the potential of the hardware, and the D3 is as good as it'll get. A decent media player, but still a little underpowered as an android PMP.

Ok, thanks. Will Cowon release another, more powerful Android PMP anytime soon?

No way to tell. Wait and see is the best we can do.

well, the d3 was only released half a year ago. given that it takes cowon generally about 1 1/2 years to present a successor i'd think we'll likely see a "j4", "i11" or whatever at the end of the year.
i don't know how hard they will pursue the android road, maybe it's just an experiment that has no future, but i wouldn't mind having a full fledged and customizable mobile OS instead of Cowon's lackluster proprietary stuff. question is: can you have Android OS without wifi and stuff. i think there are restrictions to that.

Is the 3D performance on the D3 good enough to play n64 games on n64oid, such as Mario Kart 64?
