The screen on my P3 is blank yet the touch interface works. Is this a glitch with the software or is there something wrong with the lcd?
Any help will be appreciated.

Reset. Same issue? Install firmware again. Same issue? Hardware problem. You could try and take apart your PC and clean the connectors by unplugging the screen, brushing it and putting it back and seeing if that does the job.
Is it totally blank? Are there any lines whatsoever appearing on the screen?

I've reset it and Installed firmware yet the screen remains blank, I've since realised the screen is not blank its just black. With no other colours on it. I'm going to buy a small screw driver set over the weekend or lend one off someone so that I can see if something has become unplugged. I would of sent it back but my guarantee run out and I dread to think how much it is to replace the screen.

I had this problem too, then I took the p3 apart and put it back together, and it fixed it. Screen works perfectly. Happy days.

I used a 40mm screwdriver. It looked too big, but it fit perfectly for all the screws in the player. The one behind the speaker assembly is a PITA to get out, but you can get the board out with just the two screws on the board. The LCD connection is the long rectangular connector on the underside of the board. Good luck!

LCD screen is dead, go find a replacement part on ebay or move one to something else.

Replacement P3 Screen at just over $100 USD http://www.samsungparts.com/Products...?model=YPP3JCB My P3s screen has been experiencing an ever-growing dead zone problem beginning three months ago. I personally found it more economical to get a new player, I'm waiting for the YP-G1. However, If you wish to stay on the P3 Scene (Your Choice) you can buy a used Player on Ebay for less than $100 -- To make sure it is not a Firmware problem I would recomend completely reflashing the player, that is if you are willing to take a risk... It may or may not fix it, but after all it is your choice. http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=63824 Last edited by R3998; 08-03-2011 at 08:04 PM. |

Above: $100? Heh.
Listen, I sent my P3 in for repairs by Samsung a couple weeks ago, and I do not regret doing it. I got it back within two weeks, and the problem of a few dead spots were fixed. How much did it cost? $55. I live in Washington state, and the shipping was hardly anything as well ($8). I would recommend anyone to the repair service that my P3 went through. |
