Default Creative zen 4 GB crashed?

Hi,

I have the same problem as a lot of other posters. My Creative Zen 4 GB won't turn on. It was transferring some MP3 files per computer when I froze. I couldn't turn it off and even when I disconnected it, it still said that it was connected.
I used the reset button, but after that, It won't do anything at all. The battery was completely full and I hadn't had any problem before

The computer (Windows XP) won't recognize it anymore, it won't charge with a wallcharger and trying to start it in Recovery Mode (use the play/pause button while restarting it) don't work. It doesn't do anything.
Are there any other solutions left which I missed in all those posts with the same problem? I need help! I liked it very much and I would be very pleased if it were possible to start it again. Thanks in advatage!

Yes, I've read the FAQ and tried everything what's mentioned there, but it didn't work. My question is if there are maybe some other solutions which I haven't tried yet.

Dammit, I tried to edit my short post but it didn't "take". I'll have another go:

Most problems are caused by a flat battery and not getting into the recovery mode. Obviously not in your case, it sounds like a hardware problem.

If you are good with tools and have a multimeter you can try to dismantle your Zen and check the battery directly. Also look around for loose connections etc. If the battery is healthy, disconnecting one battery lead and re-soldering will give it a hard reset.

Sorry to be not much help.

Dave

Thanks for your response Dave! To be honest, I am a disaster with tools and if I take it apart, I'm sure I'lll never get it back. I just returned it to the store and they would send it back to the factory. I hope that helps.
