Is it true that the official facebook app is not available for these?
Reason I ask is cause I ordered one for my wife, and that's what she would use it for a lot. If there are apps like that not available ... I won't even open it. Thanks |

Facebook works fine on my YP-G70. It's the firmware updates that giving me problems.

There are some apps that won't install on my Korean 5.0.
I was able to upgrade the firmware, but I'm not being offered an Android upgrade through Kies. |

When I 1st started up my yp-gb1 I was unable to install the FB app. Then I installed Kies (this was weeks ago) and after the firmware update I was able to install FB. Can't verify if that was due to the firmware or perhaps FB app was updated and the timing just worked out to match.
Yesterday I got the Kies upgrade and suddenly Kies would not connect to my device. I restarted Kies and *rebooted my device* and it did manage to connect. I thought I saw somebody here say they got Kies to upgrade them to Android 2.3, but Kies isn't giving me that as of yesterday. |

I already said it thousand times, the G1 and G70 will be upgraded to Android 2.3 only at the end of the year, that means late November at best.
Nobody has a Android 2.3 on his device yet.

The ones being released October 16 will have 2.3.5 out of the box. Best Buy and Amazon already have pages for them.

The ones being launched in the US in mid-October have a different part number (YP-G1CWY) because they have an updated OS image running Android 2.3.5. I haven't found anything that pointed to any other differences between the YP-G1CW and the YP-G1CWY, but I would bet against any hardware changes.
