Two years and still works. Touch response was always a little sluggish since day one and its no better or worse.
That being said, the screen issue could've been handled better by Samsung (low cost or no cost repairs of touch screen failures) but absolutely don't blame them for not recalling a mp3 player for a non-safety related issue. A certain percentage of users will get the latest whatever before the unit reaches failure or the warranty expires anyways. Others will break thiers and void the warranty. Samsung could fix the remaining units that fail and not the ones broken by the customers or no longer used.
