Default Backing up my data

So, I'm interested in updating the firmware for the D3, but all of the instructions say "Make sure you backup your data first!" But nowhere can I find out how to do this. I'm sure it's a rather easy answer, but I can't seem to find out.

Thanks!

I think they mean just make sure that all of the media on your player is on your computer so that you can resync it after the update.

Yeah, just drag and drop your music and movies over to your computer. If you want to back up your installed apps and app data, use Titanium Backup. It needs root access.
