Settings and functions!

I just received my brand spanking new Galaxy Player and I'm coming from my beloved Cowon J3. It's a bit of a culture shock as some settings I can't get to my liking and I've been trying my darndest.

1)Is there away to turn off that swipe thing every time the screen goes black? On my J3 all I have to do is tap the screen to get it back.

2)Is there a way to control the music going up and down with the buttons? I would love to change what I'm listening to without taking this out my pocket.

3)Is it possible when I go to my music that it goes directly to the now playing screen instead of my playlist?

I suggest getting a music player like PowerAmp in the amp store. As for the first two, you'd either have to root it, or it may be possible to change some of those settings in the LauncherPro app.
