Hello, I'm thinking of buying a Sony walkman, previous models, now that they are cheaper. S754 87£, A845 105£ and A846 130£. Do you think they are worth or it's better to stick with the new ones.
I own a Sony x and a S639 yet, but wanted a refresh in my collection. Thanks! |

A84x (except for battery life: 10h max) are top-notch players (excellent form-factor, intuitive interface, great EQ capabilities).

My A847 goes for a fair bit longer than that. Somewhere around 16 to 18 hours if I'm not constantly fiddling around with it. I guess for the capacity, the A846 would be the best one. But any of those are good choices.

Ok, I think they are all good for the price. I prever the S one, the problem it's only 8gb. Did you find anoying the hiss and the clicks? I'm using FS Eterna and Shure SE535.

Ok. I've been digging on internet, and the A840 series it's not as good as it should. More hiss than the X (which is noticeable, but I can live with) but the noises seem very annoying.

I have an A840 and I've never noticed any hiss at all.
Either everyone else is really picky about things or I've somehow managed to get the only one that doesn't have low volume, terrible battery life or hiss/crackling when using headphones. |
